This self-initiated project was inspired by a series of Kenyan stamps showing many different rare East African birds. I then went on to research rare and endangered farmland birds in the UK and discovered that there was a dramatically decreasing number of farmland birds on farms across the UK. ‘Bird For Dinner’ was aimed to raise awareness of this, directed at the public and also at the farmers themselves to take more precautions against harming the natural habitats of these endangered species. The title is designed have a more subtle meaning than might first be apparent; that the farmer/consumers are sacrificing these birds for their dinner (the crops).

THE GHOST IN THE MACHINE

The image above is a still from an animated screensaver I made.. The mountains scroll and different layers move about, and the little boy in the corner plays the accordion. I wanted to create an imaginary world that the 'ghost' in my computer might live in when I'm not using it.. Hanging out in 'My Pictures' folder, visiting the mountains, and rummaging through my itunes listening to my music..
